If you go back a long time ago, back to great wars and such; they needed ways of getting the news of attack to the town. You see things like hilltop beacons, or runners being used to convey a message, and a limited one at that.
Of course nowadays we have television, radio and then newspapers which many have said are dying out. But they all keep us up to date with what's happening in the world.
When I was younger I used to watch my mom watch Ceefax on the TV, which gave her the daily news on demand. I notice this is now replaced by her Laptop.
The internet is perhaps one of the biggest ways to get news, and certainly the one I use. Not only is is a great way for journalists to communicate between each other but of course everyone everywhere can see the news everywhere.
People can view this on computers and even better in recent years on their mobile phones. I personally always look at sky news on my iPhone, during lectures, with a spare ten minutes, plus I can also keep up with the latest news feeds on the tv as I walk through the Arndale shopping mall on my way home
